Window Wells

A window well is a piece of curved steel located below grade level in front of a basement window to hold the earth back from sitting against the window. While a window well is essential, after heavy rain or snow melting, unfortunately, sometimes window wells can flood causing water to seep through your basement window. The good news is “we can fix it”.

Option #1

Install a 4-inch pipe in the window well to a low point in your yard to carry water away.

Option #2

Set a drain in the window well connecting it into your new or existing basement drainage system/French Drain under your basement floor.

Option #3

In extreme cases, remove the window well and block up the window opening with solid concrete block and brick, waterproof the exterior and fill the hole to grade level with topsoil.

Also, a window well cover can be installed to cut down on light debris and water entering the window well area. Dino & Rocco’s Waterproofing can find the best window well cover for your unique situation.
